We have often heard that this company or that company is too big to fail. AFTER 25,800 YEARS IS THIS THE CUSP PERIOD FOR ‘THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT’? LET’S HOPE SO

As the world approached the twentieth century the industrial revolution allowed the working class in the west to survive and then thrive. But because the industrial revolution ran out of steam as a technology, the world ended up with too many working class people to sustain growth. This situation was brought to an end when thousands were slaughtered during the twentieth century’s wars, both the two major and a host of smaller ones.

As well as reducing the world’s population the wars drove on new technological innovation, this then filtered into every day life which for the first time then included the common man. He quickly became accustomed to enjoying some fun time which the modern world brought him.

Once again there was a need for a leap in technology to keep up with growth in population and the micro chip gave us this but as well as turning pictures and sound into binary ones and zeros it could also be done with our money. In the past money was physical bank notes secured by real collateral like gold bullion but now it could be made out of thin air on a computer screen and then be secured by charging interest on supplying the non existent money.

Years went by with money being made out of thin air to pay for the interest on the money being made out of thin air with institutions like the Bank of England and the Fed in the U.S. making massive non existent profits through supplying the banking system as a whole with non existing money. On paper (or rather the computer screen) the bankers were quids-in but somehow the money wasn’t in the bank, of course this is hardly surprising as it was all non existent in the first place. This was of no problem for the bankers because as always the normal citizen could make up the difference through the governments bailing out the banks with the citizen’s tax money.

So not only does Joe Public have to pay for interest on non existent money so the bankers can have massive salaries and fat bonuses, he also has to make up the short fall when the banks nearly fall over so we can carry on paying them massive salaries and fat bonuses.

In order for the system to carry on lurching from pillar to post the governments had to come up with something, so they came up with the brilliant idea of Quantitative Easing, which means printing bank notes to cover the non existent money now in circulation. The trouble is that there is nothing to back up these money tokens (like gold bullion) and so will eventually just water down the money supply as a whole and so, make Joe Public once again foot the bill through prices rise. And the bankers what will they pay? Probably for some really nice holidays, first class of course. Isn’t it about time we changed reality.

Nothing much is going on this week or so you would think if you restrict yourself to reading and listening to the main stream British media. There have been news items that are related to the unrest but they tell little of what’s really happening on the streets.

In stead they preferred to tell the story of a totally unremarkable agreement that the Eurozone came to in righting off half of the Greek debt, which as everyone knew already, they had absolutely no hope in paying anyway.

This groundbreaking non news item suddenly took a turn towards being interesting when the Greek Prime Minister threw a massive spanner in the works and decided to have a referendum on the matter. This shook the leaders of Europe as they had to concede that they did not rule or own the lives of the Greek people.

After the rises in the stock markets around Europe post bail out deal, shares duly fell back when Greece’s Prime Minister took the decision to consult its citizens as to their own future. Whether this happens is still in doubt as there is now decent from within his own cabinet as well as elsewhere in the country.

What do the Greeks do? Be continually tied to their European masters by accepting the bail out and so face years of austerity measures, or go bankrupt which will mean that they will not be able to lend any more money and so face years of austerity measures. Talk about being caught between the devil and the deep blue sea.

OCCUPY WALL ST/THE WORLD. TM-WEEK 6

In the UK the focus is now on Christopher Wren’s masterpiece St. Paul’s Cathedral. Making one of the pinnacles of the Christian Church in this country the centre spot for the protests in Britain was the perfect choice as it sits amongst the types of institution that the protesters are protesting about, as well as bringing in to question the churches position on the matter as well as the “root of all evil” in general.

After three weeks of camping out in the grounds of this magnificent building, the Church Authorities have relented from the position of evection and gone with the original teachings of Jesus in supporting the underprivileged and the poor. This whole situation is a bit if of sticky position for St. Paul’s as it has Investment Bankers and the Stock Market as corporate partners, even if they are partners.

After the token gesture of reporting the mass protests from around the world, the British main stream media has once again (apart from St. Paul’s) gone quiet on the subject. It’s as if they would like you to think that it is now more or less over.

There has been a lot of talk lately of various asteroids hitting the Earth; the next close (but not that close) sizable lump of rock to pass by us will be this week on Tuesday the 8^th. I wouldn’t have normally mentioned it as this is not unusual but there has been talk on the Net (mainly by Richard Hoagland, also see below in ‘UFO Sightings’) that the 200 m long Asteroid YU55 which should be passing us at 0.8LD (LD = Lunar Distance) is now on an altered trajectory and will now impact the moon. If this is the case then those with binoculars and telescopes might be in for a rare sight as the sizable bolder traveling at very high speed and almost as big as a large skyscraper, vaporizes itself upon impact with the lunar surface.
